The Corrective Tuneup is a short term program focused on identifying and correcting inefficient movement patterns. 

What is a movement pattern and how can they be inefficient?

Movement patterns are the muscle and joint actions that create physical motion, serving as the foundation for functional and athletic activities. 

An inefficient movement pattern is one that lacks alignment, coordination, or muscle engagement. Over time these will lead to reduced performance and a higher risk for injury.

We will guide you through several movements that can highlight areas for improvement.  

From these drills, we will identify overactive and underactive areas of your body.

 

  OVERactive = tight, needs to be stretched

  UNDERactive =  chronically underused, needs to be strengthened

 

Addressing these areas is the basis of your program.

You will be introduced to the basics of the techniques you will see during your program. These techniques comprise the four strategies used to align the body.

  • Ease - relaxing overactive muscles through foam rolling, self-massage

  • Stretch - lengthening overactive muscles via static stretching

  • Engage - waking up underactive muscles through isolated activation techniques

  • Synchronize - bringing it all together with awareness to restore optimal movement

Building Your Program

We will work together to create a four-week program that works FOR YOU, tailoring it to your preferred:

  • Duration of Training Sessions

  • Equipment 

  • Intensity 

Your program will be delivered through the TrainHeroic app. We will be checking in regularly and adjusting your program as we go.

 

This app is free, and you will receive an invitation to join once your program is ready. Through the app, you can log your workouts and communicate with me. Every exercise includes individualized instructions and video demonstrations.

  • Where are the in-person training sessions conducted?

    • All in-person sessions are held at Soma Strength and Conditioning in Springdale, Ohio. In-house training is available on request. Travel fees will apply.

  • I am recovering from an injury or just had recent surgery. Am I able to do this program?

    • If you are recovering from surgery or a serious injury, you must have clearance from your physician before participating in this program.
